Splash of colors on your plate on this Holi, at the Cocoa Bakery

Holi is when we all take out some time to consciously add some colour to our otherwise dull lives. And of course, no celebration is complete without ‘mishti-mukh’ and the joy of giving.

The Bakery Bahar for Bashant Panchami at the Cocoa Bakery, New Alipur has given a modern spin to Holi gifts, with its remarkable array of goodies.  They have trays and boxes of varying sizes, which one can fill up according to one’s liking, whether sweet or savoury.

Sarita Lakhani, the person at the helm of the place has some very interesting Holi themed designs in cupcakes, cookies, brownies, macaroons and even savouries, apart from sleek and classy boxes of luxury handmade chocolates. The gift trays are priced between Rs. 400 to Rs. 1000, but can obviously go up if they are loaded up further.

What I loved about this place is their openness about customizations. So if one wants to add a personal touch to their gifts, the Cocoa Bakery will be more than happy to discuss the options.

For the perennial late planners, who are looking to make the kids in the family happy in an instant this season, they have a treat bucket, complete with a water sprinkler, colours and chocolates in a cute, little bucket.

Chocolate barks with pistachios, almonds and walnuts

The chocolate barks in dark, milk and white chocolate, loaded with pistachios, almonds and walnuts looked tempting too. But of all things that I sampled on the invitation to PanchPhoron was the Thandai Macaroons. The brightly swirled biscuits were crispy, airy and not too sugary, while the dallop of filling inside had the exact flavor of a rich glass of thandai magically infused in it.

The wide range of options, which all look, smell and taste beautiful, coupled with the simple yet festive packaging, is genuinely a great gift option for friends, family, colleagues or to oneself, this season.

If New Alipur is not too convenient for some, they can check the outlets at the Punjab Club, Ballygunge or the Country House, Allenby Road. Also, for big orders, home delivery is an available option.
